Report KANSAS May Join NEBRASKA and OKLAHOMA in suing COLORADO over POT.

By William Breathes Wed., Dec. 24 2014

Late last week Oklahoma and Nebraska filed suit in the U.S. Supreme Court to halt Colorado's implementation of Amendment 64. Basically, both states say they are tired of dealing with marijuana that crosses the border.

In the suit, they claim that Colorado cannabis ties up law enforcement agencies and is wreaking havoc on police and state trooper budgets. And now it seems another neighbor to the east is mulling jumping on the bandwagon.

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt has been debating whether to sue Colorado for months, according to his staff. Jennifer Rapp, spokeswoman for Schmidt, told KMBC News that Schmidt is still "weighing his options."

That Kansas would consider suing Colorado shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to the increasing number of Colorado drivers pulled over as they enter Kansas. A 2013 report showed that 79 of the 133 felony pot trafficking cases in Kansas stem from Colorado weed. Herb grown in California accounted for about 35 percent.

Not all lawmakers in Kansas would welcome the suit, though. In September, state Senator Pat Roberts, a Kansas Tea Party conservative, called the current federal policy against cannabis a failure and said that Colorado was right to push the issue. "We've had a federal policy in this country since the Nixon administration that doesn't seem to be working," he explained.

"We've spent over a trillion dollars on it. With that said ... we do have states that have started to work with different policies as it relates to legalization, and I think it would be prudent for us to take a step back, watch what happens in these states before we determine how we want to change federal policy."

Nebraska pot stop
The irony is rich, as an editorial in the Kansas City Kansan this week points out that while both Nebraska and Oklahoma are conservative states, Kansas has been particularly proud of its resistance to federal demands when it comes to Obamacare and K-8 education, saying it's all for state's rights. So Kansas should respect Colorado's decision and mind its own business, the editorial concludes.

No matter what AG Schmidt decides, Kansas is definitely a state to avoid if you're carrying cannabis on you. Any amount on a first offense can get you a full year in jail and $2,500 in fines -- and judges love exercising their right to throw you in the slammer, according to Kansas-based attorney Cal Williams. "There's a range from 25 grams to 450 grams, and even for someone with no record, a conviction could carry 46 to 51 months in a penitentiary," he tells Westword.

Even possession of paraphernalia can (and will) net you up to a year in jail and $2,500 in fines.

We got it WRONG. Who'da thought the Little North Korean Shrimp Would Hand Us our LUNCH??

Lets look at the FACTS.

Sony Pictures decides to make money MAKING FUN of defenseless nutcase Kim Jung UN!

Not many can get even with big media, but his computer hackers are smarter than Sony's.   Rather than accept Sony's humiliation, UN hacks them and humiliates Sony Pictures' OWN movie stars.

Same thing US Supermarket rags to do the stars when they can...but they're not that smart either.     Remember, Fox owner Rupert Murdoch got burned in Britain for hacking private emails too for HIS tabloids.  Even nailed the Royal family.

Now Sony's comedy writers are on TV screaming foul-- something about Free Speech to humiliate people.

Fact is little UN got EVEN... gave American media a taste of its own medicine.   Think about it.   And Google the word "hypocrisy."

Johnson County CONGRESSMAN works for the BIGGEST BANKSTERS, not for YOU!

Remember when Wall Street banksters gambled our money and nearly crashed the COUNTRY?    Johnson County's Kevin Yoder was the one sneaking a protection into the Spending bill to put the Taxpayers back on the hook for Wall Street's greedy gamblers.    Guess what?   Banks were among his biggest campaign contributors.  Besides, CitiBank's lobbyists wrote Yoder's late night insertion!

Where's the Justice Dept to get big money out of Congress?

Click here for Huffington Post's VIDEO STORY about Yoder, his contributors, and chance of defeat NEXT election from Johnson County.

"Why is there a Wall Street giveaway in the Continuing Resolution? Did you learn nothing during the last cycle of collapse and bailouts? Plain ignorance, or willful ignorance?" says Rich Reavis, who plays in a band called Rail Dog that performs around Kansas. "Did you speak out against putting that crap in the CR?"

Scott Gregory of Roeland Park, Kansas, which falls in Yoder's district, says, "I'm sure the good folks of the 3rd District were just beating down the door to get CITI favored treatment. You are a sell-out to Wall Street lobbyists."

Citibank maintains the rule change is good for everyone. Asked for comment on the provision being included in a must-pass bill, a company spokeswoman pointed HuffPost to a recent blog post by Ed Skyler, executive vice president for global public affairs, outlining why banks back the provision being repealed.

"Citi is strongly committed to the safety and soundness of the financial system. We also support a regulatory framework in which U.S. companies can be as competitive as possible," Skyler writes. "This correction to the 'swaps push-out' provision supports both goals."

To be clear, lawmakers in both parties supported the bank provision by voting for the spending package. Republican leaders in the House and Senate, as well as Democratic leaders in the Senate and appropriations committee chairs on both sides of the aisle, were in favor of including the provision. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), the lead appropriator in the Senate, actively defended the bank language.

The vote created unusual fractures in the House, where Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) broke from Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) in opposing it. The bill also led to odd alliances in the Senate, where Warren and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) found themselves united against it. The final House vote can be seen here. The Senate vote is here.

Language has been added to note that lawmakers of both parties voted for the Wall Street provision.  -Huff Post

Many on both the Right and Left are FURIOUS...but it passed both the House and the Senate anyway.  President Obama has not yet signed it.

BILL MOYERS writes how Citi-Bank should be broken up... over the stir that has Kansas City area Congressman in the middle.

Washington POST skims and highlights the 'bipartisan SPENDING BILL... here it is

This item has been updated and revised.

The $1.01 trillion spending bill unveiled late Tuesday will keep most of the federal government funded through next September -- and it's packed with hundreds of policy instructions, known on Capitol Hill as "riders," that will upset or excite Democrats, Republicans and various special interest groups.
So, what's in the bill? We've sifted through the legislation, consulted supporting documents from Democratic and Republican aides, and called out some of the more notable and controversial elements below. (If you want to review detailed reports on all 12 parts of the spending bill, clickhere.

Well this is definately a breaking story....a lot of changes.   Rachel Maddow had the best cable coverage today.   But the Tea Party doesn't have that channel listed as a 'favorite', so they get the Fox version.
Is this Racketeering?
I think Sen Elizabeth Warren's making the Republicans VERY NERVOUS.

Elizabeth Warren's right... this 11th hour action in the house to put TAXPAYERS back on the hook for big banksters gambiling losses is outrageous. They nearly collapsed the economy in 2008! Remember? Congressmen of both parties were wetting their pants! I'm wondering if the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT should investigate who put the clause in the spending bill at the last minute in the House to make TAXPAYERS responsible for big bank gambling losses. And anybody who voted for it and got contributions, investigate them for bribery... and violation of the Federal RICO statutes... RACKETEERING! And force the secret front groups who launder campaign contributions to reveal their contributors and destinations, and if they fail, charge em with complicity in the racket.

TORTURE and the IRAQ War.

A lot of discussion this last week about Torture...Republicans are doing Damage Control.    Dick Cheney flat out said President Bush knew about it... Who's truth telling?

Well its clear the Bush Cheney regime wasn't telling the truth about IRAQ and how we got in there.

I was starting to wonder if Tea Partiers are in such denial over wars that they become very dangerous.

Ignorance can be very dangerous when accompanied with self righteousness.

Figuring many are Fox watchers and Fox never reports right wing mistakes or corrections, they probably never learned that there were no modern WMD's in Iraq and that contrary to right wing reports, alQueda (responsible for 9-11) did not have a relationship with Saddam Hussein.

These same people think GWB was unfairly blamed and Dick Cheney was a hero... when in fact they were far worse even than NIXON.

So they probably never read the evidence that Bush the Younger invaded Iraq under false pretenses. IT was NOT at all about AlQueda, or WMDS.

It was about stablizing the supply and price of oil on world markets. The oil megacompanies were involved in the planning of the Baghdad invasion, and when we went in, there were only two things they had to have.

Protection of the Petroleum Industry headquarters, and protection of the oil fields and pipelines.  Everything else was left to be destroyed and looted. Including Iraq's magnificient museums.
Its all out now and oil officials have admitted their participation. Indeed, there were military targets to be preserved that had Oil Companies' names on it.
Tea Partiers won't like the source. They think as little about MSNBC as most people do about FOX.
Think of us invading IRAQ after 9-11 like us invading CANADA. Or police on a drug raid busting down the door of the wrong house.

People who don't pay attention are dangerous and easily manipulated just like Hitler manipulated the Germans in 1938.

How many Iraqis did we mistakenly kill for our 3,000 people in the WTC? A quarter million?

How many alleged terrorists doing mischief in THEIR OWN COUNTRY (not ours) do we kill with our drones every month?   One of the blonde Fox anchors actually asked this, trying to smear Obama.

How many of our soldiers have we sacrificed because we didn't like OPEC setting oil prices?

Besides that the 9-11 hijackers and bin Laden himself were SAUDIS! We never laid a hand on them. Even evacuated their royal family visiting here on 9-11 in the middle of the night. Go figure.

About OPEC, again. They're doing it again now, and we consumers are enjoying the price war... designed to bankrupt Russia and US Shale Frackers. The've set the price of their oil lower than we can produce it for. We're swimming in oil!
Republicans, like the corporatists who believe ENDS JUSTIFY MEANS.

Torture's okay. Tricking voters and gerrymandering districts, and claiming there's voter fraud just to pass unrealistic voter ID laws?
ENDS JUSTIFY MEANS. That's EXACTLY what Nixon's men did... and they all went to prison.
And we did it in VIETNAM, for no good reason. They never attacked us. IT was about the evil Communist horde that must be stopped in a faraway jungle.

Go get yourself a beer and watch this hour long investigation if you wanna get the story of why BUSH is persona non grata in his own PARTY!

So OFFICIALS ARE playing DUMB on FERGUSON and for Obama to PARDON Bush and Cheney tomorrow?

Not being an active reporter for some time, but as a regular reader of Associated Press self-written or republished stories, I've got the impression AP is a bit right-leaning these days.    Witness the lastest story printed on the blog of KMBC-TV's Michael Mahoney.

It's a half story.  With a misleading headline. Mo Attorney General  Chris  Koster's not even IN the story.  Maybe just a mistake... maybe Mahoney just failed to delete an old headline in his blog.  Dunno.

But more disturbing... the St Louis Prosecutor is PLAYING DUMB on WHY  critical witness testimony was NOT RELEASED.

Check this curious report...

So what wire service, newspaper or ace TV reporter's going to drive to Jeff City or St Louis and ask these people directly for the answers, the transcripts, and who made the decision not to include it in the massive release of data on the Ferguson case?

VIDEO STORY:  On Dec 7th, KSDK TV St Louis made some's their video.

UPDATED:   The news finally came out about a key woman clearly lying to protect the cop.   It ain't gonna be pretty for St LOUIS OFFICIALS.  I expect the cop's goin down.  Maybe the DA, too!   DEVELOPING.

Did St Louis officials release thir OWN interviews with Johnson?  If not, WHY not?   As to the FBI's interviews, sounds like we'll have to wait.

Breaking BOMBSHELL...

Big Report Due out on Summary of CIA Torture Tuesday that has US officials worried about world reaction this week.  Our people overseas on alert.

MORE... MSNBC's Rachel Maddow reports Monday the Tuesday's New York Times will have the head of the ACLU asking
Pres Obama TO PARDON Former Pres George Bush and VP Dick Cheney.    The two have not been charged with torture crimes but the ACLU says PARDONS would show the world that torture is a crime and keep it from happening again.

Hagel Stumped By Soldier Asking if Afghanistan Will Fall Apart Like Iraq?? NOT STUMPED. JUST NOT OUR PROBLEM!

By Joel Gehrke  National Review Full Article
December 8, 2014 12:29 PM

Defense secretary Chuck Hagel was stumped by an Army staff sergeant who asked him for an assurance that the security situation in Afghanistan wouldn’t deteriorate after the withdrawal of American forces the way broad areas of Iraq succumbed to the Islamic State.

“In the end each country must take the responsibility for their own futures and for their own fate and for governing themselves,” Hagel replied.

The outgoing Pentagon chief insisted that Iraq and Afghanistan are “more different” than they are alike, although he noted some troubling similarities.

“But yes, some similar threats: terrorism,” he said. “Some of the same factors, some of the same organizations that wanted to do everything they can to destroy the United States as well as Western values and Western civilization. So there are common interests. There are common challenges. But how we work and cooperate with other countries is always — is always a little different. And I think that in this case that’s the case.”

Read the link for the full exchange....

National Review wrote this headline badly. Bad choice of words. Hagel clearly wasn't stumped. National Review just didn't like the answer.
Hagel basically said what Obama's said, most of the country's said other than the warhawks and oil barons. Our job isn't to babysit countries... they have responsibility to form their OWN destiny. If necessary, using THEIR blood and not ours.
The trouble with the mideast... they are tribal and not statist like the West is. They have no loyalty to territorial borders.  Their history is far longer than OURS!
We should have known that before BUSH went into Iraq. The Russians should have known before going into Afghanistan. We went in for one reason... to clean out al Queda areas where OUR OWN ENEMIES were training and staging.
Bush 43 should have followed his dad's advice, of getting in and getting out.
And NEVER have gone into IRAQ...except for one bad assumption. He and his people thought they could stabilize oil supply and prices in the face of OPEC's unpredictability.
The only way to solve this is for our government and its Congressmen to stop military and tax aid to BIG OIL. To remind those corporations they're NOT in the OIL IMPORT business. And not our job to keep their supply lines open with our soldiers.
BIG OIL's job is to realize they're in the ENERGY business, and they should divest their profits and invest in solar and wind generation.
But why should they?   They've bribed our government so thoroughly, we'll do their oil gathering and supply protection FOR them!
If we add up the military costs, the tax cuts to the price at the pump all these years, I shudder to think how much gasoline REALLY costs us! Meanwhile big corporations are doing everything they can to keep our ENERGY the way it is... they're making a KILLING.

On us, on the arabs, our own soldiers, and our ECONOMY!

TEA PARTIERS...WAKE THE HELL UP! You're on the wrong SIDE!

Mainstream Media Ignores Fact about Eric Garner’s Death
By Barbara Boland | 9 hours ago   MRC TV

Here’s a little known fact about the Eric Garner case that the mainstream media isn’t reporting: Officer Daniel Pantaleo, the cop who put Eric Garner in a fatal choke-hold, was supervised by an African-American female NYPD sergeant.

As reported by New York Daily News:

Having that black sergeant in charge of that crime scene takes race out of the equation. As awful as Pantaleo’s actions appear on that video, at no time does that black sergeant order Pantaleo to stop choking Garner.

With a population that is 70% white and 10% African-American, when a Staten Island grand jury is presented with a white cop supervised by a black sergeant applying a lethal chokehold, it eliminates the racial component.

RadiomanKC Comments, "Stupid Reporter!":

You don't have to be BLACK to get your civil rights violated!
Storm Troopers are Storm Troopers. Its their culture. Did racism have anything to do with it?  Probably.

DO aggressive police make matters BETTER or WORSE? Do we really want gestapo tactics on our citizens...or just blacks and peeps with tattoos??

The little shrimp in the front with D.D. on his back is a co-conspirator in this murder. Riling the harrassed man more, aggressively touching him over a misdemeanor charge of selling loosies, single cigarettes. HE BULLIED this already police-tormented man rather than trying to CALMING him and just writing up a ticket. Training issue or just part of the bully police culture?  Or worse... a conspiracy?

He too should be tried along with the bully muscle behind the dead guy who choked him and took him down. Again, over a minor charge.

These men must face the music. Police are quick to make examples of hapless citizens.  They just don't let UP.  It's a control thing with bully cops.  And good cops look the other way because they half to work with these abusers!   Turnaround is fair play. And pro-police prosecutors  need to dance too, serving their own interests to win cases, at the expense of the citizens!

ELSE, ALL state legislators get them out of the middle and appoint special prosecutors to end this conflict of interest.   Do law and order Republicans DARE gloss this over?

LET BULLY COPS take to the streets. Quit if we don't let you abuse us!  Fire skinhead cops. You military types are not US!  We only want the good ones which is probably most of them, the ones not in there busting heads for fun.

And the black female supervisor... you think they were taking direction from HER?
Not damned likely!   Lets give the GOOD cops a break and get rid of the assholes!  Most people know what a bully is!   They were middle school bullies who grew up and became cops, wifebeaters and soldiers.  Just like crooked lawyers and lyin salesmen...they ruin some very good career reputations.

I think this investigation may go clear to the Governor who wanted a crackdown on lucy blackmarket cigarette sellers.   Let HIM eat it for sicking cops on the loosey salesmen.  And let the LEGISLATORS who wrote the high taxes, take there share of the blame as well.  Tories!

TEA PARTIERS are on the wrong side!

Seems to ME... the Tea Partiers should forget about Obama, and dress up as INDIANS, raid local retailers, take their OVERTAXED CIGARETTE CARTONS off the shelves, and DUMP EM INTO the NEW YORK HARBOR!

The discussion is about corporations bribing the government for their own greed. Here's the response, and mine.

richman to:  Radioman KC • 4 hours ago
Bill and Hillary are multi-millionaires, she charges $250K per speech at colleges, is in tight with Wall Street, and you are worried about rich Republicans? George Soros has pretty much bought the entire mainstream media, but I guess money from Liberal Billionaires is ok as long as they support looting and rioting in the streets. That's a pretty small contaminated pond you live in my friend.

Radioman KC • 4 hours ago... A RIGHT's REBUTTAL...
Richman:  Bill and Hillary are multi-millionaires, she charges $250K per speech at colleges, is in tight with Wall Street, and you are worried about rich Republicans?
You say, Richman, "George Soros has pretty much bought the entire mainstream media, but I guess money from Liberal Billionaires is ok as long as they support looting and rioting in the streets. That's a pretty small contaminated pond you live in my friend."

MY RESPONSE:  Don't get distracted by the small money.  They're multi milionaires NOW because of their speaking fees.  They weren't always.  Now they're out of debt and can live and travel as they need to as democratic leaders.  Bill makes a quarter million just in retirement from the Treasury.  Lets don't expect them to leave and move into a small trailer, okay?
And Soros...he's the example Republicans always use as the only rich democrat active in politics.  I'm sure there are more, law firms and others.
They are the FEW examples on the dem side which is more grass roots in its fundraising.   Tho the few remaining unions, of course which the GOP has targeted with restrictive laws.   Yes, the devil's in the DETAILS, and you'll NEVER see them reported on FOX NEWS!   Don't get distracted with the party pat excuses.
Relatively small potatoes compared to the Kochs and their many front groups--now protected by a 5-4 Supreme Court horrible ruling.  And others secretly contributing.  People with  "B"illions, not "M"illions.  Who flood the airwaves at election time with secret money.   Absolute buying of legislators.   Utterly anti-democracy.
I'm always amused by the true fascist libertarians who are quick to allege AMERICA is a REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY.!    Let's have a SHOW OF HANDS!  Where's YOUR HAND?

No matter how you look at it, industry is bribing Republican  Congressmen, and even hedging their bets by contributing to safely elected Democrats too!
Bottom line is that it's MONEY, not will of the people driving legislation!   Are you OKAY with this?   I'm not.
Be worried about that..especially about big oil and coal which for their own economic reasons are impeding PROGRESS in cleaner energy.
Got a lot of money invested in big energy?  No?   Then don't carry water for them.  BP, Exxon, Duke Energy and the rest should realize they're in the ENERGY BUSINESS, not in the AWL BIDNESS... and start building solar and wind solutions.   Maybe if the gumment quits sending soldiers and billions to protect their oil supply, they'll look for cheaper ways to create ENERGY!  CLEANER ENERGY.
BP should invest in building cheaper CAR BATTERIES and generation stations, rather than dirty, polluting, earthquake creating OIL and FRACKING.   Those are TEMP SOLUTIONS... and they're only delaying our progressive modernization for SHORT TERM PROFITS.   You DO know that, don't you?
Vote YOUR OWN ECONOMIC INTERESTS and those of your CHILDREN...and right now, you should be divesting from WallStreet as many of the wealthy are.  Clouds on the speculation horizon.  Gonna get ugly in 2015 and lots of high priced mansions will be up for bargain prices!
Govt knows how to do payments... theyv'e been doing Medicare for low cost for a long time.   And the cheaters, well let them cheat the GUMMENT and not just INSURANCE COMPANIES, and then theyll go to federal prison!
And with much lower health care costs on us all, maybe some jobs will come back here since 3rd world countries don't pay much health care and taxes to support big militaries.   I'm good with cutting govt... but not the wrong things to help the corporatists.  Our legislators need to show some independent COURAGE.
Quit thinking like a corporate CEO wanting a regulation-free- libertarian gumment, and more like a middle class citizen or retiree, if that's what you are.
Socialism isn't a bad word.  But greed and bribery are.  We have an appropriate blend of govt consumer regulation (on our air, water, meat and food quality, etc etc) and capitalism... well we DID, until a few years ago when they decided to buy the democratic process with their excess earnings.   Thanks, supreme court!
And never eat Chinese imported food where those protections don't exist!   And where you can't even BREATH in Chinese cities because of lack of regulation.  We're going to have to PAY for clean air and water.  And mercury/radiation- free seafood.  lets pay for THAT, and not the cost of gumment bribes to relax reasonable regulations!
REPUBLICANS need to buck up and raise the min wage to build up CUSTOMER DEMAND for businesses, and then workers.   Else only WALMART will have high sales and nobody else.  Do you carry water for the companies only supplying basic needs?
And get the AFFORDABLE part of the ACA (Obamacare passed) so that there'll be more DEMAND in retail for NON-MEDICAL and INSURANCE dollars.  Health Care is sucking the blood out of the country because of the system.  Let Obamacare work.   And Medicare for ALL, to cut the inefficient private pay system out...with their 18 percent surcharge that doesn't add ANYTHING to our health!
SUMMARY:   Get a better news diet and not just the corporatists views, and be enlightened.   Else, just rant on carrying someone else's Koolaid!   You vote for the corporatists because you CHOOSE to!

Please don't bother to respond with smartphone quips.  Time is too short to argue!
