Pew Research Poll: Obama Holds Lead; Romney Trails on Most Issues
Record Negatives for Supreme Court Driven by GOP Discontent
Overview
Despite
the stagnant economy and broad dissatisfaction with national
conditions, Barack Obama holds a significant lead over Mitt Romney.
Currently, Obama is favored by a 50% to 43% margin among registered
voters nationwide.
Obama has led by at least a slim margin in every poll
this year, and there is no clear trend in either candidate’s support
since Romney wrapped up the GOP nomination.
The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People
& the Press, conducted June 28-July 9, 2012 among 2,973 adults,
including 2,373 registered voters, finds that Romney has not seized the
advantage as the candidate best able to improve the economy. In fact, he
has lost ground on this issue over the past month.

Supreme Stupidity:
This morning on
Fox News Sunday, Justice Antonin Scalia reiterated just how extremely his Constitutional originalism can be applied. Referring to the
recent shooting
in Aurora, CO, host Chris Wallace asked the Supreme Court Justice about
gun control, and whether the Second Amendment allows for any
limitations to gun rights. Scalia admitted there could be, such as
“frighting” (carrying a big ax just to scare people), but they would
still have to be determined with an 18th-Century perspective in mind.
According to his originalism, if a weapon can be hand-held, though, it
probably still falls under the right o “bear arms”:
WALLACE: What about… a weapon that can fire a hundred shots in a minute?
SCALIA: We’ll see. Obviously the Amendment does not apply to arms
that cannot be hand-carried — it’s to keep and “bear,” so it doesn’t
apply to cannons —
but I suppose there are hand-held rocket launchers that can bring down airplanes, that will have to be decided.
He was on Faux News Sunday.
But Scalia WARNS: There Are 'Undoubtedly' Limits To A Person's Right To Carry Guns (VIDEO)
Media got a little confused on what he said and what he actually DIDN'T say
Amazingly, BREITBART offers a good essay on it.

School Massacre Averted
An Oklahoma high school student was arrested after a cab driver
reported hearing him plot a Columbine-style shooting at his school,
police said.
Timmy
Eike, 18, who would have been a senior this
fall at Woodward High School, was arrested Tuesday after police found a
shotgun, rifle and 250 rounds of ammunition in his bedroom. And,
according to KWTV, court records show Eike bought those weapons
illegally in the past month.
Law
enforcement authorities were led to Eike by a cab driver who told the
station he drove Eike to work at Walmart several times in recent weeks,
and the teen spoke of killing people, hiding bodies and getting out of
the country.

Political Conventions: More Riot Gear, QUICK, for Homeland Security
The Department of Homeland Security has ordered masses of riot gear
equipment to prepare for potential significant domestic riots at the
Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and next
year’s presidential inauguration.
The DHS submitted a rushed solicitation to the Federal Business
Opportunities site on Wednesday, which is a portal for Federal
government procurement requisitions over $25,000. The request gave the
potential suppliers only one day to submit their proposals and a 15-day
delivery requirement to Alexandria, Virginia.

Really bad Romney Overseas Trip
Now
Romney's handlers are saying his campaign official was not part of his
prepping for his trip to Europe. And, that the Romney campaign had not
prepared sufficiently for ‘a visit of this magnitude.’ Really?!
Seriously?!
You mean he's not smart enough to know his manners? And, how
he should behave when in another country? Does he not know what
diplomacy means? When did his handlers know he wanted to go on a
European vacation?
If they weren't prepared for this small
adventure.....how the hell are they gonna be prepared if this man were
to ever become president? I mean are we all listening and paying
attention to this garbage? There is absolutely no excuse for what went
down In Europe. "No Excuse!"

JERUSALEM (NBC) -
Mitt Romney would “respect” Israel's use of military
force to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, a senior aide said
on Sunday as the Republican presidential candidate began his visit to
Jerusalem.
"If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to
stop Iran from developing that capability, the governor would respect
that decision," Romney's senior national security aide Dan Senor told
reporters traveling with the candidate.
While stopping short of endorsing a preemptive military attack, the
comment seemed to differ with President Barack Obama's attempts to
convince Israel to avoid any such move.

"CULTURE", Romney-Code for Racism. Not that it's not true, but he's really sucking up on his trip to the US Jews to get their votes away from Obama this November.
JERUSALEM (AP) - Mitt Romney told Jewish donors Monday that their
culture is part of what has allowed them to be more economically
successful than the Palestinians, outraging Palestinian leaders who
suggested his comments were racist and out of touch with the realities
of the Middle East. His campaign later said his remarks were
mischaracterized.
"As you come here and you see the GDP per capita, for instance, in
Israel which is about $21,000 dollars, and compare that with the GDP per
capita just across the areas managed by the Palestinian Authority,
which is more like $10,000 per capita, you notice such a dramatically
stark difference in economic vitality," the Republican presidential
candidate told about 40 wealthy donors who ate breakfast at the
luxurious King David Hotel.

Romney doesn't think Public Schools are Worth the Investment.
DETROIT -- Vice President Joe Biden says Mitt Romney doesn't treat
public education as a priority and distrusts the hardworking teachers
who struggle to create opportunity for the nation's young people.
Biden addressed 2,500 delegates at the American Federation of Teachers national convention in Detroit on Sunday.
He says the Republican presidential candidate plans to gut
education funding to finance tax breaks for the wealthy. And he says
Romney and his GOP rivals made clear during the primary debates that
"they don't think public education is worth the investment."
Biden says Romney backs Republican budget plans to slash spending on
the Head Start preschool program, as well as grants and loans for
college students.

Romney too Wimpy?
Dodging reporters,
fearing his base, hiding his taxes—is Mitt Romney just too insecure to be
president? In this week's Newsweek (on sale tomorrow), Michael Tomasky
surveys a history of presidential manliness and asks just where Mitt Romney
would fit amid the studly swagger of Dubya and Reagan. More on this from Daily Beast
WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney laughed off questions about an article in the latest issue of
Newsweek that labels him a "wimp."
"If I was worried about what the media said, I wouldn't get much
sleep," Romney said during an interview that aired Sunday on CBS' "Face
the Nation." "I'm able to sleep pretty well."

Palin wasn't ready. Bush wasn't ready. And Romney's not ready; he'd need a "handler."
Former vice president Dick Cheney is critical of the process that led
to the 2008 selection of another Republican vice presidential
candidate: Sarah Palin.
"I think that was a mistake," Cheney said in an interview for
ABC's This Week.
Cheney
said Palin, then the first-term governor of Alaska, failed the most
basic test of being on the vice presidential short list: "Is this
person capable of being president of the United States?"
Said
Cheney: "I like Governor Palin. I've met her. I know her. ... Attractive
candidate. But based on her background -- she'd only been governor
for, what, two years -- I don't think she passed that test ... of
being ready to take over. And I think that was a mistake."
Radioman KansaSitty · Top Commenter · Wichita State University
Actually
I thought CHENEY was a mistake as well, but for a different reason. He
was a criminal. Palin was indeed a stupid choice just designed to win,
but McCain could've handled the job. CHENEY, though, was needed to
run the country with BUSH because Bush WASN'T able to handle the job by
himself.
For the same reason, ROMNEY better find
himself a CRACKERJACK Vice president to tell him what to say and do in
the sad event he wins.

-0- I'm sure firemen enjoyed breaking out those windows, snapping this picture, and then putting it on the Internet. That this is a BMW probably gave them even MORE pleasure. The class warfare LIVES in the union world! Lower level people have so LITTLE CONTROL of their lives in this world... this photo makes them all feel just a little bit better, symbolically! Just relishing the little inconvenience the wealthy must pay for ignoring the rules the rest of us pay dearly, when we violate them on a daily basis!!
