If Republicans Got their Way- Redistribution of Wealth

Usually you would have to use Photoshop to make this point. Not in this case. A staggering photo from São Paulo, where extreme wealth and extreme poverty coexist side by side. It is a visual representation of the rift that is continually growing all over the world. We must strive for a more equitable distribution of our resources.

Are Republicans Sabotaging the Economy to beat Obama?

Last year, the Republicans nearly destroyed the economy with their manufactured crisis over raising the nation’s debt ceiling. And then the spending cuts they demanded in return for avoiding a first-ever default on our obligations have slowed down the recovery and cost us hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Unsurprisingly, polls taken at the time of this debacle found that half of all Americans agreed that Republicans were sabotaging the economy just to hurt the president.

REVEALED: The Racist GOP Campaign To Smear The President

A Shameful Effort by Republicans to Divide Our Country

A front-page New York Times story today exposed a shocking $10 MILLION racist campaign to smear the president that was prepared by GOP operatives and was merely awaiting final sign-off from a politically active right-wing billionaire.
The campaign was to focus on the president’s previous ties to Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a racially inflammatory topic that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) declared firmly off-limits during his 2008 presidential campaign.

A Censored Race War

From National Review -  Thomas Sowell

What the authorities and the media seem determined to suppress is that the hoodlum elements in many ghettoes launch coordinated attacks on whites in public places. If there is anything worse than a one-sided race war, it is a two-sided race war, especially when one of the races outnumbers the other several times over.

49 Headless Bodies. Don't ya just love Mexico?

Authorities struggled Monday to identify the 49 people found mutilated and scattered in a pool of blood in a region near the U.S .border where Mexico's two dominant drug cartels are trying to outdo each other in bloodshed while warring over smuggling routes.

The bodies of 43 men and six women with their heads, hands and feet chopped off were dumped at the entrance to the town of San Juan, on a highway that connects the industrial city of Monterrey with Reynosa, across from McAllen, Texas.

At the spot where authorities discovered the bodies before dawn Sunday, a white stone arch that normally welcomes visitors to the town was spray-painted with "100% Zeta" in black letters — an apparent reference to the fearsome Zetas drug cartel that was founded by deserters from the Mexican army's special forces.

Reagan Would Envy Obama’s Economic Record

If there are two things that Republicans want us to believe, it would be these:

1. Barack Obama’s economic policies are a failure which made the recession worse.

2. Ronald Reagan was an economic genius who should serve as an example of how to improve the economy.

The best way to examine both of these statements is to compare how these 2 presidents handled the economy during their first 3 years as president.

There are entrenched interest groups that are spending large sums of money to keep our broken drug laws on the books.
Editor's note: This story first appeared on Republic Report.
Last year, over 850,000 people in America were arrested for marijuana-related crimes. Despite public opinion, the medical community, and human rights experts all moving in favor of relaxing marijuana prohibition laws, little has changed in terms of policy.
