Republicans said the spending authorized in the bill violated limits that Congress agreed to last year. Democrats fell two votes shy of the 60-vote majority needed to waive the objection, forcing the legislation back to committee.
Radioman KansaSitty: I'm as concerned that we defeat SENATE REPUBLICANS and HOUSE REPUBLICAN members as much as I am winning the Presidency. For if Obama WINS, he needs a Congress who won't OBSTRUCT HIM on his legislative agenda.
The Republicans don't talk about it on Fox News but they are responsible for stopping Obama's agenda...even as they blame him today to defeat him for not getting much done. They have obstructed him at EVERY TURN. Deliberately, to make him a one term president, to quote Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Ya don't hear that on Fox...they want you to think it was Obama's fault. But in fact it was their strategy all along and that's how they got the nickname, "The Party of NO".
Politicians who don't WANT government should not be IN government!
Americans like their cable news one-sided! Fox on the Right, MSNBC on the Left. Middle of the road CNN.... not so much!
Fox today just running anti-Obama business as usual today, avoiding the key subjects that are all over the news, including reports of disarray in the Romney campaign, his secretly recorded disdain of 47% of Americans being basically non-taxpaying deadbeats. Certainly viewers wanting to know more than the FOX/ROMNEY side of things, need to also watch MSNBC a little bit-- and ratings this week show they're nearly neck and NECK.
MSNBC's RACHEL MADDOW becoming a star.
On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell again topped their Fox News counterparts (Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren, respectively) in the demo — with Maddow taking a nearly 200k lead over Hannity. Both he and Van Susteren came out on top in total viewers, but Maddow and O’Donnell remained close behind, with the latter falling 100k short. MEDIATE prints side - by - side FOX, CNN, MSNBC Ratings.. check it!
Judge Ginsburg issues Prediction on Gay Rights.
Something else you probably won't hear about on Faux News:
Attorney General Eric Holder had no knowledge about a series of botched gun stings, which began in 2006 under George W. Bush — until the operation’s flaws became public in January 2011.
The “Operation Fast and Furious” report discredits sharp allegations by Republicans in Congress who launched a witch hunt against Holder, subjecting him to hours of interrogation to float conspiracy theories, alleging repeatedly that the Obama administration was using the high-profile gun violence from the operation to garner support for gun regulation, and finding Holder in contempt of Congress.
Mo Rage's Blog Thursday:
Kansas nutcases in the New York Times. Politicians go right wing... always a couple years behind the rest of America.
I doubt there is any better (worse?) example of a group of people voting against their own best self-interests than middle- and lower-class Kansans voting the Republican Party but there you are.

Missouri GOP leper Akin could have been a contender against Claire McCaskill. But nope.
Okay then. Other stuff heard on the Skipwaves this week for your enjoyment....
The Occupy Wall Street Movement, One Year Later. What happened?
By the time the police kicked the protesters out of Zuccotti Park last November, the Occupy Wall Street movement had already split into at least two distinct factions. There were the mostly college educated activists and intellectuals who essentially made up the government of the park, and the drifters who slept in the park and relied on donations mostly allocated by the first group for food, clothes and other basic necessities.

Baby boomer music...
- Radioman KansaSitty Call it "Monday, Monday". Dontcha remember when that song was played EVERY monday? Now its never played at all around these parts because the 'oldies' station only plays bright music. We get a lot of CCR, King Harvest's 1 hit, but not much of the great mid to late sixties mellow stuff that we boomers now find comfort listening to.
They seem to think we're still 19 and going to the roadhouse every saturday to dance. I don't think today's "Greatest Hits" programmers are old enough to remember what people really liked and what stations then, actually played. Thank God for Sirius/XM.
There are a LOT of us who want to hear that, but today's corporate owners are too afraid to play a wider playlist out of 40 years of great music. Our oldies station is a Cumulus property. Played the same short list shit for the last 25 years! They even have a traditional fifties oldies show on the weekend but it's all pre '62, same 50s rock songs boomers never liked; that today's 70 year olds listened to, few of them as there are left. Missing is what boomers grew up listening to. Sixties. Beatles. British invasion. Drug lyrics. White Rabbit. Ya never hear it!
Not even that much Beatles! The greatest pop band of the century, but none of their emotional love songs. And does radio not understand that ALL boomer military veterans love PPM's "Leavin on a Jet Plane"? And the Animals' "We Gotta Get outta this Place?" They just don't understand us boomers at all.
And boomer girls still love Barry Manilow who writes the songs. But he's artist/songwriter non-grata on today's homophobic radio. They might play high energy "Copa Cabana" but none of his #1 romantic love songs like "Mandy." They just don't seem to want to slow down their boogie tempo for fear of losing rocker males, apparently.
PISS ON YOU! Mass appeal radio stations targeting BOOMERS have committed suicide. Hello satellite radio! XM6! They play stuff local radio won't. It's all about surprise and mental trips. Local station programmers just aren't smart enough to understand the how music actually affects us.
