KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City school board has named Dr. R. Stephen Green, President and CEO of the Kauffman Scholars program, as the interim superintendent of Kansas City schools.
The announcement was made at 5 p.m. in a news release from the district.Green will become superintendent pending a successful negotiation, the news release said.Prior to joining Kauffman Scholars, Green was the superintendent of Community School District No. 28 and a local instructional superintendent in Region 3 in New York City. He has also served as president and executive director of the non-profit New Jersey Teaching and Learning Collaborative and national executive director for the College Board.
