NY Rep Weiner Resigns after sexting scandal... and more stuff!

Rep. Anthony Weiner announced today that he is resigning his seat in the House after apologizing for "the distraction I have created."
The New York Dem’s wife, Huma Abedin, was not there. Weiner admitted he had carried on inappropriate relationships with several women online after denying it.   Even as he spoke to reporters, one heckler yelled to interrupt him, saying 'bye, bye, pervert'.

The heckler was reportedly a Howard Stern stuntman.  Weiner has a pile of money in his campaign warchest since he'd planned to run for mayor. Pundits noted his speech was less 'goodbye' as it was, 'I'll return' someday.    Video:  Complete Statement

Parkville, further downstream is prepared with sandbags for weekend higher waters.  Kansas City is not expected to flood because dikes are built substantially higher than the Missouri River is expected to crest this year.

Traffic was a steady stream to river's edge in Parkville this afternoon as residents watched the swift moving current.  Otherwise, the plastic dikes are already in place....as well as long rows of sandbags waiting for the Missouri to rise above its banks.

The Parkville JamFest to be held this weekend featuring booths and live music is being held on higher ground than the usual English Landing Park which may be flooded.  Instead, it's been set up for Parkville Commons, near 64th and Highway 9.

Russia and China oppose outside interference in the unrest in the Arab world, the two presidents said on Thursday in a declaration, as the West seeks their support for increasing pressure on Syria.
"The sides believe that the search for settling the situation in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa should take place in the legal field and through political means," said the declaration signed by Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Hu Jintao.

Higher Education is WAY higher.  Tuition costs skyrocket while wages are stagnant.  So much for working your way through school like parents did.

Even the cost of a GED is going up.  With some regrets, Kansas regents approved a 25 percent increase in the cost of taking the GED exam Wednesday. The price will rise from $68 to $85 on July 1.  The GED, or high school equivalency, is a battery of tests that allow people who didn't finish high school to demonstrate their proficiency in the skills required of a high-school graduate. A blonde heard that baths in milk would make her beautiful. She left a note for her milkman to leave 25 gallons of milk.

When  the milkman read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought  she probably meant 2.5 gallons. So he knocked on the door to clarify the  point.

The blonde came to the door and the milkman said, "I found your note asking me to leave 25 gallons of milk.  Did you mean 2.5 gallons?"

The  blonde said, "No, I want 25 gallons. I'm going to fill my bathtub up with milk and take a milk bath so I can look young and beautiful again."

The milkman asked, "Do you want it pasteurized?"

The blonde said, "No, just up to my tits. I can splash it on my eyes."
