New 100 watt bright light bulb design the government requires will cost $50 each!  Yup.  The bright LED's are costly but use much less juice than the regular 100w bulbs that make more heat than light.   Two leading bulbmakers say their brighter LED's will go on sale next year, but after a government ban takes effect on regular 100's.  Expect hoarding for the last ones being sold starting in January.

Monday: Donald Trump says he will not run for president in 2012.   Aw Shucks!   An ass like that so personifies the Republican Party!  But we knew the whole time that it was all just about his light in the sun.  He'd be fired on election day and his ego would never tolerate that.

A friend gets clarity.  He  became confused when he heard the word "Service" used with these agencies:
  • Internal Revenue  'Service'
  • U.S. Postal  'Service'
  • Telephone 'Service'
  • Cable TV 'Service'
  • Civil  'Service'
  • Public 'Service'
  • Customer 'Service'
This is not what he thought 'Service' meant but today he overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'Service' a few cows.

BAM
!!!  It all came into focus.  Now he understands what all those agencies are doing to us.

Mother Nature is still really pissed off at the deep south.  Just this year Tornadoes and now Mis'ippi flooding!  It'll be a bad week after the Army Engineers opened up some of the levees upriver to save Baton Rouge and New Orleans.  Farmers and small towns will pay the price with their land flooded instead.

French bigshot being charged with forcing a NY hotel maid to commit sodomy on him over the weekend and he was arrested moments before his Air France jet got him out of the country.  NYPD's got him...and it sounds like the guy's chances of becoming the next French President have gotten very slim.  He's pleading not guilty.  The French are in a tiz.

The Huckster says 'NOPE" to a Presidential run.  Good thinking.  Mike Huckabee announced no on his Fox TV show.  Now if we can get Donald Trump to say "YES" on HIS TV show, well, the O'man wins by default!

The War on Terror seems to be partly about trashing bin Laden post mortem.  Trashing his pad and distributing trashy pictures, reporting about the porno, showing pix of him watching himself on TV, flubbing his lines.  Hearts and Minds.  Ya'd think the Republicans were running this propaganda machine!

A Missouri telephone poll this weekend is asking about Claire McCaskill up for reelection against various Republicans  ... and also asking Missourians if the US should get out of Afghanistan now?  Other questions related cutting Medicare and Medicaid... would you be more or less likely to vote for her?  And questions on taxing the wealthy...what should be the minimum?  Like on those who earn $150-250k, but most centered on $1m...and what rates they should be taxed?  Sounding like McCaskill wants some reelection guidance for budget votes in the Senate.

Is Old Man River Miss Sippy, or Mrs. Sippy?  Ever since CNN's Anderson Cooper started doing stories about decimiated "Nor-luns" (New Orleans)  from Katrina days, he's started using pronunciations like the locals.  For him it's "Miss'ippi", not "Miss-ISS-ippi".  Quaint, huh?

Blavitar
Very common on Facebook for users to show only part of their faces, for some element of privacy, but it seems the most often used photo is not of themselves, but of Internet sensation Rebecca Black who sang "Friday" to 100 million YouTube viewers.
