VN POW John McCain

Ex POW Senator John McCain tells Congress he's sure waterboarding didn't help bring ObL to justice.  This after talking to CIA Dir Leon Panetta and less than a week after all the has-been Bushites went on Sunday shows to say waterboarding was the key.  Don Rumsfeld, Condi Rice and Bush VP Dick Cheney, and daughter Liz.  The usual suspects who have admitted to illegal torture and in some corners of the world could be detained for war crimes.

VanSustren,O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck
And the 4 Foxnuts played their propaganda up big, which they're paid to do.  Scary, how many republicans only drink diet of Fox KoolAid so never hear anything different.

Donald Trump has had one of the quickest rises and falls in the history of Presidential politics. Last month Rasmussen pollsters found him leading the Republican field with 26%. In just four weeks, he’s dropped all the way down to 8%, putting him in a tie for fifth place with Ron Paul.  Word is, Trump's Celebrity Apprentice TV show ratings took a big hit this week, too.  Maybe he overplayed his hand.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

Have you noticed when Liz Cheney talks, she's gets that same snarly crooked mouth her daddy has?  She was on one of the Sunday 5/8 shows defending waterboarding again.  Defending her war criminal Dick Cheney daddy, of course.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
Al Jazeera reporting a growing rif between Iranian President Ahmadinajad and Iran's religious ayatollah.  Big front page story, signaling changes are in the wings...and the sound from the story, the unpopular President's days might be numbered.  Could we be so lucky as to see things improve?

The O'men (Osama bin Laden and Barack Obama) steal cable's attention away from Donald Trump.  Will Trump try to get it back in a week or two when the media runs out of new details to hype?  And which network will dare to throw in the towel first?

Pakistani intelligence officials say a U.S. drone missile attack close to the Afghan border has killed at least 15 people.  Friday's was the first reported strike since Monday's pre-dawn raid that killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.     We're on a roll.  Lets now try some in northern Mexico!

DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda confirmed the death of Osama bin Laden on Friday in an Internet message that vowed revenge on the United States and its allies, including Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Islamist militant group.

Did Osama really resist or was he deliberately assassinated?  "Resistance is Futile" is title of a Slate article about what constitutes 'resistance' from police or military.

Who cares how bin Laden died?  Growing numbers of cable commentators and Congressmen are saying no matter the details (whether shot going for a weapon or just executed), it was a good thing, is over with, and should be not pursued further.

PANTS ON FIRE!  Bush officials side story telling Fox's O'Reilly (again) and others that waterboarding helped lead US to bin Laden.  Specifically, and most verbally, was former Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld.  He said on video an 'enormous' amount of information came from waterboarding.  Others, including experts on interrogation said bullshit, one called him 'delusional'!  Obama administration officials dance around it with trick words when pressed by reporters.

Bush Secy of State Condolezza Rice tells CNN's Anderson Cooper that the few men who were waterboarded gave important information that led to the killing of ObL but said she didn't know if the method actually brought the information.

REALLY?    Osama was reaching for a weapon when he was shot.   Officials said several weapons were found in the room where the terror chief died, including AK-47 assault rifles and side arms. They spoke on condition of anonymity as they offered the
Obama's press secretar
latest in a series of increasingly detailed and sometimes-shifting accounts of bin Laden's final minutes.

But when reporters tried to pin down Obama's press secretary this morning, he clammed up saying he had no more to say today that he didn't say yesterday.  The day before he said multiple times there was a "firefight" but not saying it this morning.

Drudge reporting somebody's been circulating a fake dead bin Laden photo...through a senator who's showing them to other senators on his Blackberry.  Nobody's talking tonight about who's spreading the forgeries but the government says it's not released any real ones.  What a circus!

Leaders of the Onondaga Nation blasted as “reprehensible” the code name used for Osama bin Laden in the commando assault that killed him: “Geronimo.”

Geronimo was a 19th century Apache leader who fought Mexican and U.S. armies until his surrender in 1886.  The Onondaga Council of Chiefs said Tuesday, “Geronimo bravely and heroically defended his homeland and his people, eventually surrendering and living out the rest of his days peacefully, if in captivity.”

Britain's Daily Telegraph notes the VEEP, Joe bin Biden opened his trap and outed the Seals.  Other officials did not and would not mention what unit did the bin Laden kill.  But big mouth Joe did.  Somebody should take that guy out of the loop.

Time now to turn American swords into plowshares.  But will the SWORD-makers allow that to happen or will they keep scaring the shit out of us so we keep giving them all our money?    Targetting congressmen, not us.  THEY are the ones spending our money on weapons we can't afford.
