Clear and Present Danger: 14 Murdered now in Acapulco!

More drug killings, just a week after 78 were murdered near the US Mexican border by a human smuggling cartel! It's a matter of time before these brazen mobs move it north of the border, and do more than just an occasional kidnapping for money.

The New War on Drugs.  Support Operation Desert Shield along the Mexican Border.  Build the Fence!  Mass the Troops and Ready Strike Aircraft on the Cartels.  Who knows, maybe the Mexican government will look the other way like they do in Pakistan!

Maybe if we drop some laser-guided birdshit on Mexico's mobsters who have murdered 18,000 people in the last few years,  Mexicans will like their country well enough to stay and build nests there!

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK.I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan ,  Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all knew Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Sleeping City Employees: STUPID is as stupid DOES!

Takes guts in an era where everyone carries around a digital camera.  This one, a guy caught two moronic city workers who are lucky to have ANY job, sleeping on it.  And for days!  And the neighbors around their favorite sleeping hole knew it.  And somebody predictably shot a picture and sent it to a TV station.

Every Public Works employee for miles around knows this old TV story, catch city workers sleeping on the job.  As TKC pointed out yesterday, its standard TV fare.  Right out of the TV handbook from IRE (Investigative Reporters and Editors)... twenty years ago.  Yet morons still do it!  Who's running that damned city over there, anyway?   Further, with this much unemployment, you'd think they could get better help!

Tony'd probably call me a racist bird if I suggested YELLOW birds would never do that.   It's about stupidity, and that does happen to birds of different colors.  But yes, it does seem sometimes that blackbirds get caught the most.

Hunters: never leave your deer stand left unattended!

Smarter than the average bear.

Tony can be so PAROCHIAL!

TKC gets soooo into local news.  Sometimes national news SUPERCEDES local news!

The case now, with the stock market going into the shitter!  Should we all move our retirements from STOCKS to just low intersest BONDS so we don't lose what little profits we have?

Tony keeps talking About Jackson County politics, which really affect NOBODY! Me thinks Tony needs to expand his interests.  For local politics not affecting us all is just boring!  Waste of our attention!

Time for this guy to expand his interests well beyond local moronic politics that really don't affect most of us all that much!

Put another way, if Tony just wastes his time on LOCAL politics like JJ while our national investments are diving into the SHITTER in ONE DAY, well then.

What GOOD is the guy if he's not paying attention to the stuff that COUNTS?

Best comment of last week: "Some days, ya feel like a nut... some days, ya don't."

Sunday talk shows really starting to SUCK!

David Gregory does not fill Tim Russert's shoes on NBC's "Meet the Press."  Worse, if he can't shake up the Republican propagandists and get them off of their canned corporate messages, well then what good is he?

Be more like Chris Matthews when he's not being obnoxious.  Stop people in MIDSENTENCE when they're playing 'escape and evade the question."

I couldn't believe Gregory didn't drive a stake through the hearts of Tea Party has-been Dick Armey and GOP obstructionist Mitch McConnell who both refused to answer questions... but instead simply stayed on anti-Obama talking points no matter what the question was.  This is how the party with no answers hopes to win the fall Congressional elections.

They're not running FOR anything, just against that black liberal president and anything he hopes to accomplish.  Gregory just let them drone on today.  Gregory should have said on camera  "If you're not going to answer my questions honestly, we'll just not have you back, sir!"  He's just too polite and he needs to put politicos on notice that he won't tolerate their propaganda.  If they can't handle that, they shouldn't accept an invite and NBC shouldn't want them on anyway!.
Note to Viewers:  A RESPONSE to a question isn't the same as an ANSWER to it!
I don't know why they're inviting these people back over and over... they are adding nothing to the national dialogue of how to improve this country.    It's like no matter what Gregory asks them, they give the same responses, over and over.  Republicans like Armey (shown here) are boring guests by definition because their answer to everything is NO.  They want Ronald Reagan back and they don't even remember what the old guy thought.  (maybe because he was suffering from Alzheimer's during his second term.)

News people need to realize that inviting guests on who will only 'stay on message' are horrible guests!  And should not be allowed on national TV because they waste our time!

Next issue.  Christiana Amanpour on ABC's This Week  is way too intellectual to be a host!  Is she bucking for a slot on public television?  She's dyin!  Not a good replacement for personable George Stephanopolis who was promoted to front for Good Morning America-- putting him there as just a pretty face (which he ALSO has) is a terrible waste of a good mind.

This morning, CNN's former field reporter Amanpour actually asked a Roundtable question using the word 'ameliorate'!   Dry as the mideast where she's spent most of her career covering while being too careful not to piss off the Arab dictators who tolerated her all these years.

This week, neither of the two major shows advanced news discussions.  It was all rehash of a week or two ago.  Nobodies on ABC and has-beens on Meet the Press!  Sigh.

Horrible!  Bad guests!

Anybody who watches political news on cable knows that MSNBC's Rachel Maddow won't let anyone trash small birds.  She's my hero!

Unbelieable Helicopter Driving

Attached is a rarely seen video of a  U.S.  Navy SEAL extraction filmed from inside an MH-47 Chinook helicopter.   The pilot has lowered the ramp, dipped the tail end into the water to partially flood the compartment, (a maneuver that requires very precise flying) and awaits the Navy SEALS to board in their F-470 Zodiac.  You have just got to LOVE the skill of our military.... very few pilots would attempt this, too easy to lose lift, and ditch the whole chopper. Click on the attachment.

Ya'd think that pilot was once a duck!  Or from Europe where bidets are very popular for washing a bird's behind when he's done with his business!

We need Air Strikes on Mexico and Columbia!

The men with the golden guns:  Mexican museum displays 'narco bling' weaponry confiscated from Drug Lords

The London Daily Mail online

This gleaming display of weaponry reveals the increasingly extravagant lifestyles of Mexican drug barons.

The confiscated items, which include several guns and high-precision rifles lavishly decorated with gold, jewels and even religious symbols, feature in a Mexican military museum.

This handgun, seized from drug lord Alfredo Beltran Leyva, also known as 'El Mochomo', is displayed at the Army's museum

And this fun photo from Columbian Drug Lords.  These are US hundred dollar bills!

Let's take THEM out rather than jailing our own citizens!  Predator Drones!  Or maybe a nice bit of Bling from the US Airforce, after we decide the Drug Cartels constitute a "Clear and Present Danger", so to speak?  Remember the Jack Ryan movies?   There was such a great line in the film, after the laser guided bomb took out a bunch of drug lords.

"The Americans are here!"

Why does it seem we have to get these stories from the BRITISH Press and not our own?

I'm COMPLETELY against the new Muslim Center in Northeast KC!

Well this is great. A city and its token minority blog (TKC) always looking for divisive issues. Just days ago, it was about disenfranchised LATINOS. That didn't fly. Blacks have always claimed disenfranchisement. Which is surprising, given they've run the KCSD and look what a circus THAT's always been.

Now it's the Civil War again, North versus South. Arguments about who's more self absorbed.  (Watch for the Monitor and the Merrimac patrolling the Missouri River for raiding parties!)

That would be funny if it wasn't so damned funny! The northland's always been quietly takin care of business while the snooty Brookside-Waldo crowd of the LAST mayor's always carried itself like IT's still high society in this town.  (They had to have been soo pissed that Zona Rosa went in up north while the Plaza just smells of horse shit.)

Meanwhile the real high society, well the moneyed people, have been over west of State Line for decades.

Seems to me the Hall's white fences are on the Leawood side of the road-- though the Red Bridge crowd probably thought Leawood's just West Kansas City.   Maybe Johnson County should just go ahead and annex Ward Parkway... for most Johnson Countians think that's Kansas anyway, don't they?   Well maybe not anymore, since 119th went in and Ward Parkway Mall now looks more and more like Bannister.

Hahahahhahahha! This is sooo funny!

Now comes the northland, not OLD Kansas City, but NEW Kansas City.   Wait.  I'm confused.  The Italians always thought THEY lived in Northeast Kansas City but in fact, Northeast Kansas City is really Liberty!

We know what part of KC is important when we count up where the Popeye's Chicken shacks are, don't we?

Tune again NEXT month, when the divisive issue will be where to put Kansas City's newly planned MUSLIM Community Center!  (Awesome TKC Tipsters haven't emailed Tony about that yet.)

Oh, not so close to Don Bosco, brown people will get confused! What about the Koreans? We need to have Kris Kobach weigh in about the Constitution issues. What does the Mayor think? What does Alonzo Washington and Terry Riley think?  And Dr Laura's plastic surgeon?

I suppose it would be racist of me to suggest that maybe if Arabs hadn't been acting like ASSHOLES for the last twenty years blowing each other up, we wouldn't have all this divisiveness?

Maybe you're confusing them with last week's big story, the Jackson County politicians?

GOP killing the country... and with a lot of help!

Fox News silent on News Corp.'s huge donation to GOP

August 18, 2010 10:44 am ET — 42 Comments
Following reports that Fox News' parent company News Corp. donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association, Fox News has not mentioned the contribution, according to searches of the TVEyes and Nexis databases. Several other news outlets have covered the donation, which is reportedly "one of the biggest ever given by a media organization."

Fox News, silent on News Corp.'s donation

News Corp.'s contribution reportedly "one of the biggest ever given by a media organization." On August 16, Bloomberg reported that News Corp. gave the Republican Governors Association "$1 million in June" and that News Corp. was "[t]he Republicans' biggest corporate donor" this year. The money "goes to candidates and the state parties, as well as independent expenditures to help elect gubernatorial nominees," according to Bloomberg. The New York Times further reported on August 17 that the donation "is one of the biggest ever given by a media organization, campaign finance experts said":
The contribution from Mr. Murdoch's News Corporation, which owns Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post and other news outlets, is one of the biggest ever given by a media organization, campaign finance experts said.
Fox News programs, Fox Business Network, ignore News Corp.'s donation to RGA. A review of TV Eyes and Nexis transcripts shows that Fox News and Fox Business Network programs have not reported on News Corp.'s $1 million contribution to the RGA. Similarly, a review of shows no mention of the contribution.

DGA: Fox News declined efforts to put Dem on air to discuss the donation. The Huffington Post reported on August 18:
A top official with the Democratic Governors Association said on Tuesday that Fox News has declined repeated efforts to put him on air to discuss the decision of the network's parent company to donate $1 million to the Republican Governors Association.

In a brief interview with the Huffington Post, Nathan Daschle, the executive director of the DGA, said that he has tried on numerous occasions to go on Fox News to discuss the donation made by News Corp. None of his entreaties have been answered as of 3:30 p.m on Tuesday.

Another stolen election...Brought to you by the Party of NO!

Video: Target Flash MOB Protest. SEE IT!

Saw this on MO RAGE, one of my favorite local bloggers.  He writes a couple pieces on what it means and I'll leave it to him... so go read it, after watching this very fun video!  Trendy protest

Don't ya just love theater people? They know how to get TO us!

Alonzo's whining illogic: Sports prevents crime!

Our local hand wringer, police informer Alonzo Washington, expecting government to make kids behave:
Alonzo:  Black youth are not valued in the hell hole of KCMO.  They have no where to go! They can't be at the Plaza, Westport, the Power & Light District, the movies & malls in their city's without being chased off! Their community's are filled with crime. People are killed, shot & beat up there on the regular.

City leaders fail them over & over again. For years the powers that be have promised them some type of program to help them stay active. However, nothing has come to pass with that empty promise.

Now, a local school in KCMO won't have organized sports for students for a year! What the f*ck?!? How could this take place. Many of the people over the KCMO school district are Black males! How did they let this happen?

I think too much time was spent trying to make local & national news with drastic & innovation moves that they forgot about the basics. I don't even like traditional sports.

However, I understand that they serve as a alternative to crime in the lives of many inner-city youth.  What the leaders of the KCMO school district have done is place more Black youth in a dangerous situation.  They own lack of leadership & laxness created this problem.

These kids who have so little should not have to suffer behind adult's mistakes. I try not to get involved with the whole school board mess and I visit schools all the time.  However, I believe that someone needs to hold the district's feet to the fire on this issue. This kids need there (sic) sports programs and more leaders should be speaking against leaders in the school district who have failed the children once again!

RADIOMAN:  Sorry oh wise one.  We've HAD the sports and we already have crimes, killings and dropouts--WITH the sports!  Maybe LESS SPORTS and more math and science, school uniforms, more homework, and DADS MARRYING THEIR MOTHERS AND RAISING THEIR BOYS WITH FIRM, INSPIRING  HANDS, MIGHT CHANGE THINGS!

We all know teenage boys ignore their mothers.  But not their DADS, who will kick their asses for disobedience!  Been that way for centuries... UNTIL NOW!

I don't suppose it occurs to you that sports isn't really good career preparation for virtually all kids.  Tho it will make it easier to get through Basic Training in the military.  Maybe the kids need to quit sports and learn how to paint, fix up their homes, cut grass, help mom, and grandma!   While learning computer and craftsmanship skills!   I think kids' male egos are big enough, and competitive enough already!

Just this morning Obama was in Ohio pleading for better K-12, more math and science to prep kids for college and cheaper college, and student loans.  He didn't mention sports.

Now I'm an old fart and I grew up well before LBJ's '60s invention of the Great Society phrase"government PROGRAM".

We never saw kids need a "P-R-O-G-R-A-M" to play basketball!      Or the kids themselves since Depression days of the 1930s!     Ya can do it in the street or a vacant lot!  Needed only one bat and one ball.  No money required.   Football?  Well that's always been about bigger kids pounding smaller kids.  Suburban kids had 3-2 baseball, but the rest of us?    Neighborhood dads organized sports in the street.  No need  helmets and pads and dealing with weight.  Sports was supposed to be FUN, and every kid plays his best, not about bigger kids bullying smaller kids!!

Shouldn't we teach our kids how to be good citizens!  And not HURT each other!

Decided. Fox News isn't News. It's a Conservative Channel.

As many people have decided after their un-apologetic right lean, I've decided not to list them as a News Organization.  Its now a Political entity, like many right leaning websites.  It just happens to be television.

It's not "NEWS" in the traditional sense.  Time to quit the charade!

But they LOOK like a news channel. You're saying they're NOT?

We are such chickenshits, telling kids there's a tooth fairy!

We blow so much smoke up the asses of today's minority young people!    Telling them to work hard and they can BE all they can BE!  The big lie.  Like the trick we pull about Santa and Tooth Fairies!  No ya don't get the pot of GOLD after you work your ass off as we lied and told you.  You did.  And we don't come through!  And too many of them think high school isn't about CAREER PREPARATION, it's a social event!  They have no idea why they're actually THERE.  No one Told Them!

If they graduate (and too few do), then what next?    Of those who DO graduate, we've been so good about jerkin these kids around, pettin them on the head when they're young and cute, and then offering them NOTHING when it's time to start their lives.  Matriculate.  They need to move out and and make enough to pay for a car and an apartment and buy some basic furniture-- an entry level living!  Match up with a girl and start as family.

What a horrible case of bait and switch!!!!

Maybe we should just tell them when they're ten that they're slumdogs and not build up their unrealistic expectations!

I soo hate that we're blowing smoke up their asses to get them to stay in school, and when they do it as we entice them, there's no pot of gold at the end, after they actually DID what we asked of them!!!

Worse.  We tell them to borrow money and go to college and don't tell them that in MOST majors, they won't make enough to pay off their loans!  What kind of good advice is THAT????

Maybe kids shouldn't be so into EACH OTHER! After all, what do KIDS know about getting a job? Nothing!

How to FIX America...

Jobless millions signal death of the American dream for many

Even the criminals have fallen on hard times in America's poorest city as the long-term unemployed struggle to keep a grasp on normality

Exerpt of what The Guardian's writer says our problem is:

Such a development, though, is just a snapshot of the deep problems still hitting the wider American economy. Growth rates are stuttering and a recovery is struggling to take hold. It may even now be showing signs of going backwards again, as countries such as Germany start to power forward. Joblessness has taken hold in America, with the numbers of long-term unemployed reaching levels not seen since the Depression of the 1930s. The figures are frightening and illustrate a society that remains in deep trouble.

The headline jobless figure of 9.5% is bad enough but does not begin to convey the problem as it fails to measure those who have stopped looking for work. Over the past three months alone more than a million Americans have fallen into that category: effectively giving up hope of finding a job and dropping out of the official statistics. Such cases now number some 5.9 million and their ranks are likely to grow as millions more find their jobless status becoming a permanent state of hopelessness. Surveys show that with each passing week on the dole their chances of finding a job get slimmer.

Though corporations, especially in the banking sector, are posting healthy profits, they are not hiring new workers. At the same time, government cuts are sweeping through city and state governments alike, threatening tens of thousands of jobs and slicing away at services once thought vital. Schools, street lighting, libraries, refuse collection, the police, fire services and public transport networks are all being scaled back.

America appears to be a society splitting down the centre, shattering the middle class that long formed the cultural bedrock of the country and dividing it into a country of haves and have-nots. "A once unthinkable level of economic distress is in the process of becoming the new normal," warned Nobel-prize winning economist Paul Krugman in a recent New York Times column. Or, as Steven Green, an economics lecturer at Baylor University, put it to the Observer: "We are really in a tough spot right now."

Radioman's COMMENT  to the Guardian... one of Drudge's favorite Doom and Gloom Brit websites:

The joblessness was predicted by our old friend over here, Ross Pero,t ten years ago.  He warned us about passing NAFTA and other trade agreements that export US manufacturing jobs by willing corporations sacrificing America for profits brought by cheap labor.   Killing their own products' CUSTOMER bases (those who could afford to BUY their products)  by laying them off with no intention of hiring them back!!

(Do you get that?  If your employees can't afford what you sell because you don't pay them enough, then WHO WILL buy your products?  Henry Ford paid his assembly workers well so they could buy his assembled cars.  He understood that basic American concept.  Why don' t YOU?)

China is raping us by undervaluing their currency. We havent had the balls to deal with it. But I think we should Break NAFTA, and slap an import tax on all their goods until they float their currency.  And demand they quit using poison paints and cheaper materials.  They have NO ethics and no love for us, other than our money.  Like American business!

We under regulated the banks and greed took over HERE IN THE US and elsewhere. We're suffering deflation because of an overheated economy a few years ago and loaning money to people who couldn't afford big houses with bigger interest rates. We're running a wasteful, unproductive war because even the Bush people knew that deficit spending for WAR stimulates manufacturing.

We have yet to get rid of a health insurance collusion with big pharmacy and hospitals... where a week's hospital stay costs as much as most people make in a year.

We're paying the price for this lack of leadership and governmental mistakes.   I don't look for employment improvement for 20-50 years until CHINA's workers require two cars, health insurance and expensive regulations on how they live and what they buy. They won't stay on bicycles and mopeds for long. Humans get spoiled, as we have. As brits have.

When our election laws are what they are, lawmakers are basically bribed by businesss contributors.

And if that wasn't enough, potential capital 'invested' on Wall street aren't going to build new plants and expand. It's just legalized gambling--stock speculation, often on borrowed money.  And Congress looked the other way.

America's middle class has been taking it in the shorts... and it won't be easy to get out of it. We need a new model... we need to be patient, reduce the stranglehold business has on the US.

Convert swords to plowshares (efficient energy, vehicles, more power plants, and fewer smart bombs blowing up the SandPeople.)   The pentagon is spending 21 percent of the Federal Budget.

That will take leadership, campaign reform and utter defeat for the Republicans who will do anything to destroy the only impediment to corporate greed. Government oversite.
