This is a composite of several messages in other rooms where I participate...so here it s.
I'm not so dumb as to think that Obama's election changes everything racial, but most certainly it's a step in the progressive direction, which America desperately needs to prevent Depression and a war between our various cultures.
Did Southerners accept Obama's election? Prolly not. And what about the Mexicans? What do Americans think of what's happened especially in the last five years when our own high schoolers have been replaced by poorly-speaking Mexicans at the McDonalds windows' all over America?
I'm sure most white Americans aren't so happy to see the illegals appear here, undocumented, not even willing to learn our language well. Not that they aren't polite. They sure are. They're not at all stirring up trouble. they want NO trouble. Yet, they've taken the jobs we took as teenagers just a few years back in fast food. Jobs we wish OUR kids would take, Were they not already taken. Mexican McDonalds managers seem to only hire Mexican employees these days!
Sure I'd rather the Mexicans stay in Mexico and have THEIR country and make Mexico a great country. But apparently, they've decided to just leave that corrupt government and come up here because our place is better than theirs. Too bad for Mexico that their smartest people would rather LEAVE for the US than build Mexico. So much for national loyalty! Maybe the Mexicans not yet left there might want to think about that for awhile...and fix it. If not, then fine. We'll take their best people, as we did Europe's best and brightest and they can be stuck with los MORONes, if it's a word!
Lets review. The English colonists who risked their lives to come here during the 16-17 hundreds did so because British law said father's fortunes went to their OLDEST sons, and the younger boys got some money but no inheritance to speak of. Many bravely came to America, started their own lives. Oh yes, many many died of starvation and Indian attacks and disease. But those who survived... they built the Colonies! These were very hearty and bright people who survived it and those smart ones built the Colonies which turned into the US. Built Boston and New York and Virginia and Charlotte and so many other places. Hearty people. Raised hearty kids. Of COURSE we survived the elements and the Indians. My ancestors were tough and they survived.
Now comes the 1990s and today. Mexicans sneaking over the border today should WISH they were so brave crossing the Atlantic in those small ships. But even tho we know it took a lot of guts to sneak over the border wire to South Texas or California towns.... Nott like English ancestors who suffered for decades! Yeah, yeah.
It's only too bad Mexicans aren't willing to build up their OWN country instead of abandoning it, and heading north to the US. I can't wait to find out why they did that.
Yet America always needs smart people to build our country, as we always have. We'll take your best if you don't want them, Mexico! But those who come here because they're poor, criminal, they have no future there? Sigh they need to go back home.
I must say we need to make people take a stand. Are you loyal to the Mexican flag or the US flag, Tony? You can't be both. I wont LET you be both!
But I'm national enough to say if you come north of the Rio Grande, then be an American. Not a "MEXICN-AMERICAN. You need to pick one! If you don't want to be, then go back south and build your country, even if you have to work harder there, and good luck with it.
We AMERICANS have made OUR place. Now you make YOURS. If you want to live HERE, then fine. Do what WE did. Assimilate. Learn OUR language, be regular Americans with your lovely brown eyes. If you want to speak with a Mexican accent when you say your name, then go the hell home.
This is AMERICA, JACK! Be an American or be a Mexican. Not both. You can't live here and be BE BOTH, (Jose) Hozay! Change your name to JOSEPH, like MY immigrants did from Eastern Europe! My ancestors did what they had to to do FIT IN! If you wanna be Mexican, then stay in Mexico! If you want to be an American, well fine. Welcome. But don't talk Spanish at home to your kids. Talk ENGLISH. Americanize them!
